AFRICAN INSTITUTE FOR APPLIED ECONOMICS (AIAE) HOLDS CAPACITY BUILDING SEMINAR FOR COMMERCE AND INDUSTRY CORRESPONDENTS ASSOCIATION(CICAN)

The Communications and Relations Manager, African Institute for Applied Economics (AIAE) sola oluwadare, noted that, “The seminar, which forms part of the capacity building initiatives of AIAE, is an opportunity to create collaboration and synergistic relationship with important institutions in the nation. He is of the view that the media, as a communicator of policy reforms need to be properly carried along in the process of policy formulation of which economic research is fundamental.
He believes that self development and financial planning are germane for effective growth of human capital which is the concomitant of any meaningful economic development. Therefore the media, as a major player in achieving economic renaissance, need skill enhancement and other personal development initiatives.
Oluwadare disclosed that the Institute would use the opportunity to showcase the output of its recent research on the measurement and explanation of informal sector, a masterpiece meant to ginger government’s deliberate policies to deepen economic integration

The AIAE spokesman, Sola Oluwadare said the event billed for Lagos Airport Hotel on the 30th of April has the theme “The Role of Media in Fostering Utilization of Research in Public Policy”, with the Director General of the Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry, (LCCI), Mr. Muda Yusuf, billed to handle the topic. Oluwadare explained that men of the pen profession would also be exposed to issues on self development and financial planning to be handled by Mr. Lanre Oyetade, the personal finance coordinator of the Nigerian Tribune Newspapers while the Director General of the Nigerian Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (NACCIMA), Mr. Lawrence Adekunle will preside over the seminar.
